Today I woke up needing to clarify my point of view on something I came across on Facebook, where it stated on What The F Facts and it said "By the year 2020, cigarettes in Australia will coast $40 a pack" Well, I hate to correct them but it already cost that much in Australia and my trend had hit over 80 comments (including private messages) from 7pm to 10 beers by 5am, the debate was an on going topic from people around the globe.
As the night got colder and the moon brighening over the sea, the subject moved towards the Australian government which is the real issue here. If you live in or have lived in OZ, you will understand what Im debating about (Agree or disagree). I personally think that our government does not give two shits about the people in the country & everyday prices are increasing dramatically, everyone is suffering, trying to find a way to support their families with low salaries or can not even match a standard living lifestyle. Gambling in NSW has already increased by 35% (which is also controlled by the government in some degree) as most residents getting a bit desperate to hopefully make extra cash as we all have busy lifestyles which can only do so much which is now becoming another major problem in this country - another point I like to make is who the fuck pays 4.50 - 6.20 AUD for a small coffee??? Coffee beans are cheap to grow and to import. The answer is the shop owner has to increase prices to keep business open due to high tax rate plus pay back the loan of the bank on top of his bills.
Taxes are very very high as it is already, there is very little support for the elderly and disability and I have experienced this struggle. I am actually have a disability, whenever I am in my own country, I go into the work force, yet I have a very hard time funding for hearing aids as I don't have 6k in my pocket, I have to find help from family and loans to get what I need to survive in this world. Yet the government did NOT help me after all the years I've done right to this country. I vote, I help the economy, I obey the law and respect my roots. I had to leave my country for life experiences and as well as it got to a point I couldn't even afford to live in my own country under the sun or be a homeowner, its just simply impossible nowadays in Australia. More and more people are moving back to live with their parents. It must be very stressful to live with their mum and dad as well as raising their own children but they all had to do what they needed to provide some sort of life or financial freedom.
Australia is in a trillion dallor debt to China and at the same time Australia gives money other countries, The top four foreign landholders in Australia are the United Kingdom, followed by the United States, Netherlands and Singapore. The Philippines with 1.5m ha, just 2.8% of the total of foreign owned land.
Another point I like to make is, The Australia Post sold one of Sydney's most historic buildings, the GPO in the city of Sydney, to Singaporean international property developer Far East (Robert and Phillip Ng) to the price of $150 million, in a secretive deal. There were concerns raised in a heritage report commissioned and never made public.
Many Aussies do not understand how that happen, or how it it got that bad. Most of us know that the politicians just did not look at a problem as a whole, instead looked for quick fix and gave each other bonus and sold land to non Australians residency or international corporations (research of other media sources wanted to track down the money and where it was going). One disturbing part that kinda annoys me is that no-one in their mid 30's represents the people of our voices and we have no choice but suck it up and pay for their deeds. Its like ants, we are the one who feed the queen and protect her, do the hard work. Then get stepped on by someone above us out of the blue.
The scary part is what will they increase tomorrow, if its not property/resources or alcohol or cigarettes as this just to easy for them to say "health reasons" and don't even put the tax payers money on funding more in health awareness or benefits. The longer you age, the harder for those people to obtain an income as you won't be able to hold a job after 70 years old, this is an ageing country. This country is already on its way to a "South America" living lifestyle without falvas. Just debt after debt, Credit card to credit card.
Everyone is educated enough to know the facts of consuming bad substances, some of you (including myself ) have lost friends and love ones due to smoking or alcohol. At the end of the day, prices are going to increase on these products regardless and people will still find a way to buy them ethier in the black market or legal outlets. Government has known over the years how addictive ciggies can be and raising or increasing the price will not solve the problem to quit smoking - to take the cigarettes off the market, we will see the difference and results will indacate that there will be less people in hostpitals. But that an't gonna happen, Australia would lose so much revenue - bottom line.
Its your choice to choose the life you want to live and pay for the consequences of consuming bad things, so please choose wisely on what you do to your body.
My main focus of this story is the government taking advantage of its own people is wrong. Australians are losing faith in their country, losing faith on their puppets who say they speak and guide our country as they don't know how to really budget and don't know bring our nation as whole. Don't get me wrong its not an easy job working in government bureau and they do offer some benefits in some cases, however as a reminder to everyone, I would encourage people to work together and be a team under the southern cross to build a bright and healthy future for everyone in the land down under.
